Destination Weddings Las Vegas for Dummies

Destination weddings do not have to be held in another country
It ends up that millennial couples have a much wider analysis when it concerns the question "what is a destination wedding?". Sure, destination weddings can take place in a foreign nation, but even more happen right here in the U.S. According to the WeddingWire survey, almost 1 in 4 couples consider their wedding to be a type of destination wedding, but just 13 percent stated it happened abroad. 43 percent of those who defined their wedding as a destination wedding got wed in a various state, not a various country. And just one-third of couples hosting a destination wedding had to fly to arrive. Truly, a wedding does not require a four-hour flight and a passport to be a destination event (though 80 percent of couples stated their guests did have to take a trip and stay over night to attend their huge day)-- in fact, couple of do.

Tropical destination weddings are in the minority
Okay, so a destination wedding does not need a crazy amount of travel, but a lot of destination weddings take place on the beach? Just 22 percent of couples host their destination wedding in what's thought about a tropical destination.

Couples pick a location that's special to them
The answer to the concern "what is a destination wedding?" might be this simple: A destination wedding is hosted in a location that's special to the couple, that doesn't include their home towns or where they currently live. According to the WeddingWire study, 53 percent of couples chose their wedding destination because it's meaningful to them. And half of couples in the study selected to have a destination wedding since it's a special experience. Whether it's a favorite destination, a precious city, or a college town, millennial couples desire every element of their wedding, from the place to the smallest of information, to feel individual.

Couples hosting a destination wedding have a longer engagement
You might think an easygoing destination wedding can be tossed together at the last-minute, however these weddings require rather a bit more planning than a hometown event. And if couples desire to visit their wedding area a few times to meet with suppliers, that will need additional time.

Destination weddings have way less guests than home town weddings
It probably comes as no surprise that destination weddings have less visitors than hometown wedding events. According to the WeddingWire survey, the average couple hosts 94 visitors at a destination wedding, as compared to 132 guests at a hometown wedding.

Destination weddings are held throughout the day
One of the primary factors couples choose a destination wedding place is because of its amazing surroundings-- and they desire their guests to really see and experience it! This is most likely why more destination wedding ceremonies occur throughout the day. 62 percent of couples host their destination wedding events in the daytime, as opposed to 54 percent of couples weding in their hometowns. A daytime wedding also permits a longer event, as the vacation-like setting puts couples and their guests in a partying mood. And another intriguing reality-- couples hosting a destination wedding are less likely to hold their ceremony in a holy place (only 12 percent do, instead of a quarter of those hosting a home town event), indicating they're probably selecting outside ceremony settings to completely welcome their wedding locale.

Couples hosting a destination wedding are more likely to employ a wedding coordinator
Less than a quarter of couples hosting hometown weddings work with a wedding coordinator, and the majority of often they're employing a day-of planner. Clearly, couples hosting destination weddings see the long list of benefits of employing an organizer, whether it be one who is based in their wedding location (our recommendation) or a pro from their home base.
